Verdict

The Blueair Blue Pure 311i Max publishes the strongest airflow row in our air purifier cluster: 365 CFM pollen, 314 dust and 283 smoke, with a 439 square foot room at 4.8 air changes an hour. It does that at 32 W, 7.8 lb and a 23 to 50 dB range. This is a documentation review built from the blueair.com US product page and warranty page, both checked October 10, 2026; we did not run the unit. The value row is the clearest win: $229.99 for 283 smoke CFM is $0.81 per CFM, against $1.03 for the Coway AP-1512HH and $1.06 for the Levoit Core 300S. Filters are $44.99 at list or $33.75 on subscription, rated up to 9 months. The weak row is the warranty. Blueair's standard term is one year, extended by registration within 60 days, and the two Blueair pages we read disagree on whether the extension reaches two or three years. Blueair also notes its CADR figures were revised to meet new DOE standards, so packaging may differ. Buy it for any room up to 440 square feet if you will register it. Skip it if you want a warranty that does not depend on paperwork.

Where it is strong

  • Highest published CADR in the cluster: 365 pollen, 314 dust, 283 smoke
  • 439 sq ft at 4.8 ACH, double the Levoit's rated room
  • 32 W rated power, less than half the Coway's 77 W
  • 23 dB floor and 50 dB ceiling, matching the quietest sheet here
  • Filter rated up to 9 months, $44.99 list or $33.75 on subscription, with three cartridge options
  • App with schedules, timer, RealTrack filter life and geofenced Welcome Home mode
  • 4.6 out of 5 from 2,226 reviews on blueair.com, the only official owner score in the cluster

Where it falls short

  • Standard warranty is one year; the extension requires registration within 60 days
  • Blueair's product page says the extension is to three years, its warranty page says two
  • CADR figures were revised to new DOE standards, so packaging and older reviews may show other numbers
  • No Energy Star, AHAM Verifide or Quiet Mark shown on the product page we read
  • Dimensions printed without units (19 x 12.5 x 12.5), which we read as inches

What the Blueair Blue Pure 311i Max actually is

The 311i Max is a cylindrical purifier with 360-degree intake, a top outlet and a single main cartridge wrapped in a washable fabric pre-filter. Blueair calls the filtration method HEPASilent, which combines an electrostatic charge with a mechanical filter so the fan can run slower for the same capture.

The i in the name means connected: Wi-Fi, the Blueair app and Alexa are on the sheet. The Max suffix marks the 2023 redesign that raised airflow over the older 311 Auto.

It is 19 inches tall, 12.5 inches wide and weighs 7.8 lb. That puts it between the 5.95 lb Levoit and the 12.3 lb Coway in bulk, and closer to the Levoit in footprint.

This is a documentation review. We read the US product page, the US shop listing and the warranty page on October 10, 2026, and lined every row up against the Coway AP-1512HH and the Levoit Core 300S. We did not run the unit.

Who the Blueair 311i Max is best for

The sheet suits the largest room in the cluster and the most energy-conscious buyer.

The numbers Blueair publishes, and the ones it does not

Blueair prints three CADR figures: 365 cfm pollen, 314 dust and 283 smoke. Room size is 439 square feet at 4.8 air changes per hour. The page states these values were updated to meet new DOE standards and that packaging may differ, which is unusual candour and worth knowing when older reviews quote 250 cfm.

Noise is 23 dB on low and no louder than 50 dB on high. Power is 32 W. Dimensions are 19 by 12.5 by 12.5, printed without units; weight is 7.8 lb. Fan settings are 1, 2, 3, Auto and Night.

Filter life is stated as up to 9 months, with subscription intervals of 6, 9 or 12 months. Three cartridge types are listed with prices.

Not published on the product page as of October 10, 2026: dB at each speed, Energy Star, AHAM Verifide or Quiet Mark for this model, and the units on the dimension row. The FAQ cites an AHAM recommendation for air changes but does not claim AHAM Verifide for the 311i Max.

How the price and filter cost are structured

The regular price is $229.99 and the page shows no separate sale price. That is $10 below the Coway AP-1512HH and $80 above the Levoit Core 300S.

The standard Particle & Carbon filter is $44.99 at list and $33.75 on subscription. AllergenBlock is $64.99 list, $48.75 on subscription. SmokeBlock is $59.99 list, $45.00 on subscription.

Because Blueair says up to 9 months, a yearly cost needs an assumption. At 9 months that is 1.33 filters a year, or about $59.99 at list and $45.00 on subscription, both editorial calculations. At 6 months it is $89.98 list. Blueair's RealTrack feature estimates remaining life from fan speed and air quality rather than a fixed calendar.

That compares with Coway's printed $59.79 a year and Levoit's $29.99 per filter with no printed interval. Side-by-side rows are in the Coway vs Blueair duel and the room-size shortlist.

Ease of use: what the 4.3 is built from

Ease rewards the parts of the sheet that remove decisions. The 311i Max has Auto mode from integrated sensors, a Night mode that dims the display and lowers the fan, a display lock, and an app with on-off timer, schedules and RealTrack filter alerts. Welcome Home Technology switches the unit on when the phone comes within a few miles.

The washable pre-filter is a fabric sleeve, so the first maintenance step costs nothing. At 7.8 lb the unit moves between rooms in one hand.

The deductions are small. The main controls are a single touch button on top, which is simple but means most settings live in the app. Owners in the one-star group on blueair.com mention app pairing trouble, which is the usual pattern for connected appliances.

A 4.3 means the sheet documents more convenience features than either rival, with the usual connected-device caveat.

Features: what the 4.3 is built from

Features are scored on documented hardware and software. The 311i Max documents a two-part filter system with three cartridge options, integrated air sensors, Auto and Night modes, Wi-Fi, Alexa, a scheduling app, RealTrack filter tracking and geofencing.

The cartridge choice is a real difference from both rivals. Coway has a fixed four-stage stack; Levoit has one cartridge. A buyer facing wildfire season can fit a SmokeBlock and a buyer with pollen allergy can fit an AllergenBlock without changing the unit.

What is missing: a separate deodorisation filter as standard, which the Coway includes, and any on-unit air quality readout beyond the LED. There is also no stated VOC sensor.

A 4.3 means the sheet is the fullest of the three on both hardware and software. For how each row compares, read the Coway vs Blueair duel.

Value: what the 4.5 is built from

Value is price against delivered airflow, plus running cost. At $229.99 for 283 smoke CFM the editorial cost is $0.81 per CFM. The Coway is $1.03 and the Levoit is $1.06 on the same basis. On pollen CFM the Blueair gap widens further at 365 against 240 and 141.

Room coverage per dollar tells the same story: 439 square feet for $229.99 against 361 for $239.99 at Coway and 219 for $149.99 at Levoit.

Running cost is the second win. At 32 W around the clock, an editorial calculation gives about 280 kWh a year, against roughly 675 kWh for the Coway at 77 W. At a 16 cent US rate that is about $63 a year saved. The Levoit at 23 W uses less still, but moves half the air.

Filters at about $45 to $60 a year are in line with Coway. The 4.5 is the highest value score in the cluster because every airflow-per-dollar and airflow-per-watt row goes to this sheet.

Support: what the 3.7 is built from

Support is scored on warranty length, conditions and documentation. Blueair's standard limited warranty on Blue Pure models is one year from purchase. Registration within 60 days, through the customer account or the app, extends it.

Here the two Blueair pages disagree. The US product page, checked October 10, 2026, says registration extends the warranty to three years. The US warranty terms page says it extends from one year to two years. We list both and treat two as the floor until Blueair reconciles them.

Either way, the longer term depends on paperwork within 60 days. Coway's three-year motor cover and Levoit's two-year term do not. That is the main deduction.

On documentation the sheet is strong: three CADR figures, a filter interval, filter prices and an owner rating, plus a note that the CADR figures were revised. The 3.7 is a thin unconditional warranty next to a thorough sheet.

What verified users report

The blueair.com US product page shows 4.6 out of 5 from 2,226 reviews as of October 10, 2026, with 88 percent of reviewers saying they would recommend it. The breakdown is about 1,800 five-star, 162 four-star, 79 three-star, 46 two-star and 134 one-star.

That is the only official owner score among the three sheets in this cluster. Levoit's page shows no product rating and Coway's shows none either.

The five-star group most often cites quiet running and app convenience. The one-star group clusters around app connection problems and units that stopped responding, which is the typical failure pattern for Wi-Fi appliances rather than something specific to filtration.

Third-party testers writing before the DOE revision quote 250 cfm across all three pollutants. Blueair's current page lists higher, revised figures, so a reader comparing old reviews to the current sheet should expect a mismatch. None of this changes our table; it sits beside it.

Limits stated by the vendor

Blueair states that CADR and room-size values on the page have been updated to meet new DOE standards and that packaging may show slightly different figures. A buyer should expect the box and the website to disagree during the transition.

The filter life of up to 9 months is a ceiling, not a promise. RealTrack shortens the estimate under heavy use.

The warranty extension requires registration within 60 days of purchase. Miss the window and the term is one year.

The product page lists no model-specific certification marks. It does say Blueair products are FSA and HSA eligible and cites a 2025 Consumer Reports brand award, which applies to the brand, not to this unit. We do not print marks that the page does not print.

Alternatives on this site

Coway Airmega AP-1512HH Mighty. Choose it if a three-year motor warranty without registration and a printed filter schedule matter more than power draw, and the room is under 360 square feet. Otherwise choose the Blueair for more airflow at 32 W and the app. Full rows in the Coway AP-1512HH spec sheet and the Coway vs Blueair duel.

Levoit Core 300S. Choose it if the room is under 220 square feet and $149.99 is the budget. Otherwise choose the Blueair, because 283 to 365 CFM against 141 is not a close row. Sheets and duel: Levoit Core 300S spec sheet and Levoit vs Coway duel.

Bottom line

The Blueair Blue Pure 311i Max has the best airflow, power and value rows in this cluster: 283 to 365 CFM, 439 square feet at 4.8 ACH, 32 W, 23 to 50 dB and $229.99, all per blueair.com on October 10, 2026. It also carries the only official owner score here, 4.6 from 2,226 reviews.

Its weak row is the warranty: one year unless registered within 60 days, and two Blueair pages disagree on whether the extension is two or three years. Its CADR figures were also recently revised, so expect older reviews to differ.

On our rubric it scores 4.2 overall, the highest of the three sheets. For any room from 300 to 440 square feet it is the sheet to beat. Register it in the first 60 days.
